Decidir nuestro futuro

Cualquier persona debería tener la oportunidad de escoger su futuro, así pues cualquier colectivo de personas también deberían tener la oportunidad de decidir su futuro. Sobre esta base fundamental de derecho, el pueblo catalán quiere tener la oportunidad que ya se ha dado a otros pueblos como el de Quebec, el escocés y otros para decidir su futuro.

Sobre esta base un tal Sean M. de Columbus (Ohio - USA) ha realizado una petición al gobierno de la administración de Barack Obama titulada: Support the People of Catalonia in their effort to decide their own future , es decir "Soporte al pueblo de Catalunya en su esfuerzo por decidir su propio futuro".

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Support the People of Catalonia in their effort to decide their own future
The People of Catalonia, the Northeastern region of Spain, would like to hold a referendum on whether or not they would like to become independent from the Spain. The Catalan people have their own distinct language, culture and traditions that are not being respected by the Spanish government; many Catalans do not feel Spanish, but rather a Catalan citizen without their own State. In 2012 during their national holiday, 1.5 million people took to the streets of Barcelona to demand independence, yet the Spanish government simply ignored them. In adherence to the guiding principles of our own Declaration of Independence, we ask the United States government to stand with the Catalan people's right to decide a future that is best for them through a fair and democratic referendum.

Para que una petición realizada por un ciudadano llegue a manos de la administración del Presidente de Estados Unidos Barack Obama, debe pasar un primer filtro de 150 firmas para que se pueda encontrar en la web WhiteHouse.gov, y un segundo filtro de apoyo de 25.000 firmas únicas en 1 mes.

Pues bien la iniciativa "Soporte al pueblo de Catalunya en su esfuerzo por decidir su propio futuro" consiguió el apoyo de más de 25.000 firmas en menos de una semana...

Desde Emeshing.com quiero lanzar un mensaje de libertad y democracia, así pues qué más democrático que elegir el futuro de un pueblo mediante las urnas. Creo que ningún otro poder puede evitar tarde o temprano que esta votación de autodeterminación o votación para decidir nuestro futuro se acabe realizando.
